Upright meaning

Death in tarot is the card people fear and then over-explain as “just transformation.” Omen will not blunt it into a spa word. A form has finished. Continuing it is the real violence. What you love in it can be carried; the costume cannot. Something wants a burial so it can stop haunting the living rooms. The hinge is name what is over. Grief is cleaner than a long fake life. Do not decorate a corpse and call it patience. Upright, this can be the end of a job, a relationship shape, an identity, a daily habit, a season of being the strong one. It is not a medical prediction. If you need medical information, get it from medicine. In a reading, Death is the dignity of completion. People stay in dead rooms because the living ones require grief. The card is on the side of the grief. It is not on the side of drama. A theatrical ending that lets you keep the costume is not this card. This card is the quieter, worse, cleaner thing: it is over, and you still have to wash the cup.

As today’s hinge

As a daily card, name what is over in one sentence without a sequel. You do not have to execute a life change before evening. You do have to stop decorating. If you keep repairing because you are afraid to replace, that is already The Tower’s cousin. Death’s day is often administrative: cancel, return, tell one true line, let a chat go unanswered on purpose. Carry only what is yours.

In a decision spread

In situation, an ending is already the matter — even if everyone is using present-tense verbs. In obstacle, the refusal to bury, the fake life, the hope that patience will reanimate. In path, name the end and grieve it; do not call delay love. In Celtic Cross, Death in outcome is not a horror film. It is where this goes if you stay honest about a finished form.
