The Hermit is withdrawal with a purpose. The crowd has used up its usefulness. What you need will not arrive as a message. It will arrive as a sentence you can only hear when the room is empty. Omen’s hinge is precise: withdraw without disappearing. The lamp is for walking, not hiding. People who are lonely pull this card and feel seen; people who hide in work pull it and feel accused. Both can be true. Solitude that is trying to tell you something is different from exile as a brand. Protect the silence. Do not protect the isolation that is actually a grudge. Upright, The Hermit can be a study period, a grief that needs fewer witnesses, a moral inventory, a walk. It is a poor excuse for ghosting a responsibility you still have. The lamp lights a path. If you have no path, you may only have a cave.

As today’s card, make an empty room on purpose — a walk, a muted hour, a meal without a screen — and listen for the sentence.
